The mission of the Cheshire Education Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to help acquire and distribute funds to assist an already excellent school system to become one of the finest educational organizations in the country. This mission will be achieved with the assistance of the Foundation by providing students with extended learning opportunities that are beyond the conventional resources of a public school system.
HISTORY OF THE FOUNDATION
The Foundation was founded on December 6, 1995. Effective on that date, it was granted tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Foundation is governed by a board of volunteer Directors who meet as a group on a monthly basis. The Foundation acts independently from the Cheshire Board of Education. In the first thirteen years since its formation the Foundation has successfully funded over fifty eduational projects of various sizes totaling over $910,000.
